PLUS SIZE T SHIRTS

Plus size T shirts….my experience….

For the first time since our family reunions started thirteen years ago, I had a bad experience with our reunion t shirt order last year in 2011 with regard to family members who had ordered plus size t shirts. Also, I must admit that every time I think about it and/or discuss it, it causes my blood to start boiling. Long story short…prior to placing an order for your family reunion t shirts make sure that the company you are ordering from can not only accommodate all sizes but that ALL t shirts will be the exact same color. You don’t want your family members who ordered plus sizes to have a different color t shirt than the rest of the family no matter how slight the color difference is. This is exactly what happened regarding all plus size t shirts which had been ordered. Family members who had ordered larger size t shirts ended up with a different color blue shirt than the rest of us. The company did not inform me that the particular color we had chosen was not available in larger sizes (2X and above). Instead, they chose and sent us a somewhat different color shirt for those sizes.

That was very upsetting to me because I love my family and it doesn’t matter if they are a size 2 or size 102. I apologized to those family members and explained what had happened. Although, they all said it was okay, it was not okay with me because I felt it was like ostracizing those family members. A family reunion is time of unity, love, togetherness, and bonding and your certainly don’t want anyone to feel excluded, different or singled out. I live my life by the golden rule and I’m ultra considerate of the feelings of others. Had I been informed by the company regarding the different color, then I would have just changed to that other color.

Also, there are companies who offer one size fits all; in most cases this t shirt doesn’t work well for everyone. Whenever you order one size fit all shirts either it’s too big for the regular size or too small for the larger size. Although placing the order for t-shirts maybe a later task for the reunion, it’s very important that you place your order place in a timely manner just in case there is some issue with your order and hopefully you will have amply time to resolve the problem before the reunion.
